General Maintenance
- INSPECT BOLTS AND NUTS ON CHASSIS AND BODY
- In addition to the scheduled maintenance items, check for loose or missing bolts and nuts of the following.
Canada:
- Steering system
- Drive train
- Suspension system
- Fuel tank mounts
- Engine mounts, etc.
- BODY INSPECTION
- Check the body exterior for dents, scratches and rust.
- Check the underbody for rust and damage. If necessary, repair or replace.
- CLEAN OR REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING FILTER
- Remove the air conditioning filter (see REMOVAL ).
- Visually inspect the surface of the filter.
- If the filter is contaminated with foreign matter, replace the filter.
- TIRE ROTATION (See INSPECTION )
- ROAD TEST
- Check the engine and chassis for abnormal noises.
- Check that the vehicle does not wander or pull to one side.
- Check that the brakes work properly and do not drag.
- Perform setting of the parking brake shoes and drum.
- FINAL INSPECTION
- Check the operation of the body parts:
- Hood:
- Auxiliary catch operates properly
- Hood locks securely when closed
- Front and rear doors:
- Door locks operate properly
- Doors close properly
- Back door:
- Door lock operates properly
- Seats:
- Seat adjusts easily and locks securely in any position
- Front seatback locks securely in any position
- Folding down rear seatbacks lock securely.
- Hood:
- Be sure to deliver a clean car. Especially check:
- Steering wheel
- Shift lever knob
- All switch knobs
- Door handles
- Seats
- Check the operation of the body parts:
