Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR
- Check that each ECU connector is properly installed.
OK: Each ECU connector is properly installed.
NG: CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY
OK: Go to Next step
- Check that each ECU connector is properly installed.
- CHECK FOR DTC
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check that the ABS warning light illuminates.
- Check if the same DTCs are recorded.
Result:
RESULTResult Proceed to DTC is not output A DTC is output B
B: REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC
A: Go to Next step
- CHECK ABS WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON
NG: END
OK: Go to Next step
- INSPECT BATTERY
Result:
RESULTResult Proceed to Battery voltage is OK (when using intelligent tester) A Battery voltage is OK (when not using intelligent tester) B Battery voltage is NG C B: Go to step 6
C: RECHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY
A: Go to Next step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (ABS WARNING LIGHT)
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, generate a control command, and then check that the ABS warning light operates.
Skid control ECU assembly

OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
NG: Go to Next step
- Select the ACTIVE TEST, generate a control command, and then check that the ABS warning light operates.
- CHECK ABS WARNING LIGHT
- Disconnect the A40 ECU connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Using a service wire, connect terminal WA to GND3 or GND4 of the A40 ECU connector. Check the ABS warning light.
OK: ABS warning light turns off.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Remove the service wire.
- Turn the ignition switch ON. Check the ABS warning light.
OK: ABS warning light illuminates.
OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
NG: Go to Next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER)
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER
