Inspection Procedure

HINT:

When using the intelligent tester, start from *1. When not using the intelligent tester, start from *2.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (VSC OFF INDICATOR)*1 
   1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, generate a control command, and then check that the VSC OFF indicator light operates.

      OK: VSC OFF indicator turns on or off. 

   NG: Go to step  3

   OK: Go to Next step 

2. CHECK FOR DTC 
   1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
   2. Check that the VSC TRAC warning light illuminates.
   3. Check if the same DTCs are recorded.

      Result:

      DTC is not output	A
      DTC is output	B

   B: REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC 

   A: Go to Next step 

3. CHECK WARNING LIGHT 
   1. Check the warning lights other than VSC OFF indicator light.

   OK: Go to step  5

   NG: Go to Next step 

4. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: IG1 NO. 2) 
   1. Remove the IG1 NO. 2 relay from the cowl side junction block LH.
   2. Measure the resistance of the relay.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION
      
      

      Tester Connection	Specified Condition
      1 - 2	10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2	Below 1 Ω (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 3 and 4)

   NG: REPLACE RELAY

   OK: CHECK COMBINATION METER (COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT) 

5. CHECK VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT 
   1. Check for open circuit in the combination meter circuit.

   NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER 

   OK: Go to Next step 

6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT) 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

   OK: Go to Next step 

7. INSPECT CENTER DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH 
   1. Check the center differential switch (see CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK SWITCH ).

   NG: REPLACE CENTER DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH 

   OK: Go to Next step 

8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CENTER DIFFERENTIAL SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 

   NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

   OK: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
