Brake Actuator: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE  (See REMOVAL )
  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash or remove it completely.
  3. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  4. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt from the air conditioner tube bracket and separate the wire harness clamp and air conditioner tube clamp.

    2. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator with brake actuator bracket.

      SST 09023-00101

    3. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.

      HINT:

      • *1: To Front Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *2: To Front Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *3: To Rear Wheel Cylinder RH
      • *4: To Rear Wheel Cylinder LH
      • *5: From 2nd Master Cylinder
      • *6: From 1st Master Cylinder

    4. Pull the lock lever upward.

    5. Disconnect the actuator connector.
    6. Remove the 2 bolts, the nut, and the brake actuator with brake actuator bracket.

      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
  5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket.
