Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK ECM (FPR VOLTAGE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      FPR (E7-30) - E1 (E7-1) STA signal ON 9 to 14V
      FPR (E7-30) - E1 (E7-1) STA signal OFF 0 to 3V

    NG: REPLACE ECM  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT RELAY (Marking: FUEL PUMP) 
    1. Remove the FUEL PUMP relay from the engine room R/B.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      3 - 4 Below 1 Ω
      3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 4 10 kΩ or more (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)
      3 - 5 Below 1 Ω (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

    NG: REPLACE RELAY

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL PUMP RELAY - ECM) 
    1. Remove the fuel pump relay from the engine room R/B.
    2. Disconnect the E7 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      FUEL PUMP relay terminal 1 - E7-30 (FPR) Below 1 Ω
      FUEL PUMP relay terminal 1 or E7-30 (FPR) - Body Ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE ECM  (See REMOVAL  )
