Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve Assembly: Removal

  1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    (See REMOVAL )

  2. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the rain sensor connector, (with Auto Wiper)
    2. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.
    3. Remove the grommet.
    4. Remove the 6 nuts, and then remove the 2 front shock absorber caps, (with Air Suspension)
    5. Remove the 4 set nuts of the shock absorber.
    6. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 nuts, and then remove the cowl top panel outer sub-assembly.
    7. Tighten the 4 set nuts of the shock absorber.

      Torque: 80 N*m (815 kgf*cm, 59 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT:

      Install the 4 nuts to prevent the shock absorber from dropping.

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

  10. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1 Exhaust Side) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve.

  11. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1 Intake Side) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve.

  12. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2 Exhaust Side) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve.

  13. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2 Intake Side) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve.
    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve.
