Skid Control Sensor: Installation

  1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Wipe the sealant off the skid control sensor installation surface using white gasoline.
      NOTE: Keep the sensor rotor free of foreign matter.
    2. Install the skid control sensor onto the rear axle hub in the highest possible installation position.

      HINT:

      The distance between the installation holes should be larger on the upper side than the lower side.

    3. Using SST and a press, install a new skid control sensor into the rear axle hub until it is flush with the end.

      SST 09214-76011 

      NOTE:
      • Do not use a hammer when installing.
      • Check for any foreign matter on the sensor probe.
      • Press the skid control sensor in slowly without turning it.

  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  4. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  6. ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  9. CHECK ABS SENSOR SIGNAL
