Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See  COOLANT  ) 
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  4. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  6. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    2. Remove the sensor.
    3. Remove the gasket from the sensor.
