Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT NIGHTTIME ILLUMINATION 
    1. Turn on the light switch and check the nighttime illuminations of the vehicle interior.

      Result: 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Only radio receiver nighttime illumination does not activate A
      No nighttime illumination at all B

    B: GO TO  COMBINATION METER 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (PANEL2 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Removed the 2E junction block connector.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      PANEL2 (2E-5) - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RADIO RECEIVER - DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the R3 receiver connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ILL+ (R3-2) - Body ground Light control switch OFF Below 1 V
      ILL+ (R3-2) - Body ground Light control switch TAIL or HEAD 10 to 14 V

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ILL- (R3-12) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
