Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT NIGHTTIME ILLUMINATION 
    1. Turn on the light switch and check the nighttime illuminations of the vehicle interior.

      Result: 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Only multi-display dimmer does not illuminate A
      No nighttime illumination at all B

    B: GO TO  COMBINATION METER 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER - DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK)) 
    1. Disconnect the M5 panel connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M5-1 (TAIL) - 2F-10 Below 1 Ω
      MS-11 (GND1) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER (MULTI-DISPLAY) 
    1. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel center.

    2. Measure the resistance of the panel.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M5-1 (TAIL) - A-1 (ILL+) Below 1 Ω
      M5-11 (GND1) - A-3 (GND) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) (PANEL2 VOLTAGE)

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.
    2. Measure the voltage of the junction block connector.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2F-10 - Body ground Light control switch OFF Below 1 V
      2F-10 - Body ground Light control switch TAIL or HEAD 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU) 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
