Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (H-LP LVL) 
    1. Remove the H-LP LVL fuse from the passenger side junction block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance: Below 1 Ω 

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A31 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-2 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A31-1 (E1) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE 
    1. Disconnect the A31 and D2 ECU connectors.

    2. Remove the front light ECU from the engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A31-5 (MPX1) - Relay block front light ECU terminal 6 (MPX2) Below 1 Ω
      A31-6 (MPX2) - D2-15 (MPX1) Below 1 Ω

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Both are OK A
      One is OK B
      Both are NG C

    B: REPLACE AFS ECU AND REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    C: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    A: REPLACE AFS ECU
