Inspection Procedure
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRANSLATE ECU)

- Disconnect the S5 and T28 ECU connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Specified Condition S5-11 (ENG+) - T28-14 (ENG+) Below 1 Ω S5-13 (TRC-) - T28-17 (TRC-) Below 1 Ω S5-18 (ENG-) - T28-15 (ENG-) Below 1 Ω S5-20 (TRC+) - T28-16 (TRC+) Below 1 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK ECU COMMUNICATION (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRANSLATE ECU)
- Remove the skid control ECU but do not disconnect the connectors.
- Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 11 (ENG+) and 18 (ENG-) or 20 (TRC+) and 13 (TRC-) of the S5 skid control ECU.
- Start the engine, and check the signal waveform.
OK: Waveform is output as shown in illustration.
NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
OK: REPLACE TRANSLATE ECU
