April 5, 2026: LEMON Manuals is launched! Read the announcement.

Inspection Procedure

  1. CLEAR DECELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION DATA
    1. Clear the zero point calibration data (see CALIBRATION  ).
  2. CHECK FOR DTC
    1. Check that DTC C1336/39 is not output.

OK: DTC C1336/39 is not output.

    OK: END

    NG: Go to Next Step

  3. INSPECT YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR (INCLUDING DECELERATION SENSOR)
    1. Remove the console box and deceleration sensor.
    2. Connect 3 dry cell batteries of 1.5 V in series.
    3. Connect terminal 8 (VYS) to the batteries' positive (+) terminal and terminal 5 (GYAW) to the batteries' negative (-) terminal.
NOTE: Do not apply voltage of 6 V or more to terminals 8 (VYS) and 5 (GYAW).
    4. Measure the output voltage of the sensor when the sensor is tilted forward and rearward.

      Standard voltage

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Tester Condition Sensor Condition Specified Condition
      4 (GL1) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Horizontal 2.5 V
      4 (GL1) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Tilt forward 0.5 V to 2.5 V
      4 (GL1) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Tilt rearward 2.5 to 4.5 V
      2 (GL2) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Horizontal 2.5 V
      2 (GL2) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Tilt forward 0.5 V to 2.5 V
      2 (GL2) - Battery's negative (-) terminal Tilt rearward 2.5 to 4.5 V

      HINT:

      • If the sensor is tilted too much, it may output the wrong value.
      • If the voltage is out of the specification, replace the sensor with a new one.
      • When replacing the sensor, do not place the sensor upside down.
