Front Axle Hub Bolt: Replacement
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the brake cylinder from the steering knuckle.
- Support the brake cylinder securely.
- REMOVE FRONT BRAKE DISC
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT
- Temporarily install 2 nuts to the hub bolts as shown in the illustration.
- Using SST and a brass bar or equivalent to hold the axle shaft, remove the hub bolt.
SST 09628-10011
- INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT
- Temporarily install a plate washer and nut to a new hub bolt as shown in the illustration.
- Using a brass bar or an equivalent to hold the axle, install the hub bolt by torquing the nut. Then remove the nut and plate washer.
- Remove the 2 nuts temporarily installed above.
- INSTALL FRONT BRAKE DISC
- CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
- Connect the brake cylinder to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 118 N*m (1,203 kgf*cm, 87 ft.*lbf)
- Connect the brake cylinder to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
- Install the front wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- Install the front wheel with the 5 nuts.
