FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/ Occupant Classification ECU, Occupant Classification Sensor): Removal

  1. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP RH 
    1. Hook a screwdriver to part A to bend it toward the inside of the cabin and release the claws. Pull the seat belt anchor cover cap RH upward and remove it.
      NOTE: Do not damage the seat belt.

  2. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor end of the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH 
    1. Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat outer track bracket cover RH.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the inner side and outer side.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH 
    1. Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the front seat rear outer track bracket cover RH.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT REAR INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the inner side and outer side.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side.

    3. Move the front seat assembly fully forward by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side.

    5. Move the front seat assembly to the center position and adjust the seatback to the vertical position by operating the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and the reclining power seat switch knob.
    6. Turn the engine switch off.
    7. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery, and wait 90 seconds or more.
      CAUTION: Wait 90 seconds or more after disconnecting the negative terminal cable to prevent airbag deployment (See PRECAUTION  ).
    8. Disconnect the connectors and clamp.
    9. Remove the front seat assembly RH.
      NOTE: When removing the front seat assembly RH, be careful not to step on the yaw rate sensor mounted on the floor under the seat.
  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSPECTION )
  10. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  11. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 7 screws.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and separate the front seat cushion shield assembly.
    3. Disconnect the connector and then remove the front seat cushion shield assembly.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and clip, and then remove the front seat inner cushion shield LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.
    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the front power seat switch RH.

  15. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (See  REMOVAL   ) 
  16. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disengage the 2 hooks.

    2. Disengage the clamps.

    3. Disengage the 4 hooks.

    4. Using a screwdriver, disengage the hooks.

    5. Remove the 2 clips.
    6. Disengage the hooks and remove the separate type front seat cushion assembly RH.

  17. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Using a screwdriver, raise the claws on the bracket and pull out the connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clips and remove the occupant classification sensor.
      NOTE: When the occupant classification sensor is replaced, be sure to replace the occupant classification ECU as a set.
