Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the cruise control main switch.

      ECM (Radar Cruise): 

      NORMAL CONDITION CHART

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      CCS Main SW M-CPU Main switch signal (Main CPU) / ON or OFF ON: Main switch ON
      OFF: Main switch OFF
      -
      Cancel Switch CANCEL switch signal / ON or OFF ON: CANCEL switch ON
      OFF: CANCEL switch OFF
      -
      SET/COAST Switch SET/COAST switch signal / ON or OFF ON: - (COAST)/SET switch ON
      OFF: - (COAST)/SET switch OFF
      -
      RES/ACC Switch RES/ACC switch signal / ON or OFF ON: + (ACCEL)/RES (RESUME) switch ON
      OFF: + (ACCEL)/RES (RESUME) switch OFF
      -

      OK: 

      When the cruise control main switch is operated, the display changes as shown above. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )

    NG: Go to Next Step 

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the cruise control main switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 3 RES/ACC switch is hold ON 235 to 245 Ω
      1 - 3 SET/COAST switch Is hold ON 620 to 640 Ω
      1 - 3 CANCEL switch Is hold ON 1,510 to 1,570 Ω
      1 - 3 Cruise control main switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 3 Cruise control main switch ON Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 MODE switch Is hold ON Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the A and K20 spiral cable connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance of the spiral cable.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Condition Specified Condition
      A-3 - K20-1 (CCS) Below 1 Ω
      A-1 - K20-7 (R/N) Below 1 Ω
      A-4 - K20-2 (ECC) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K20 spiral cable connector.
    2. Disconnect the A54 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE REFERENCE

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      K20-1 (CCS) - A54-26 (CCS) Below 1 Ω
      K20-7 (R/N) - A54-32 (CCHG) Below 1 Ω
      K20-2 (ECC) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      K20-1 (CCS) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      K20-7 (R/N) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
