Engine Oil Temperature Sensor: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 8.70 to 11.30 kΩ
      1 - 2 80°C (176°F) 1.529 to 1.869 kΩ

      If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor

      NOTE: When checking the sensor in water, keep the terminals dry. After the check, wipe the sensor dry.
