Transmission Control Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Apply MP grease to the hatched area of the shift lever guide housing as indicated in the illustration.

    2. Install the transmission control switch to the shift lever guide housing.
      NOTE: Securely engage the claws.

    3. Install the shift lever guide housing with the shift lever lock pin and a new shift lever support
      NOTE:
      • Install the shift lever nut and lock pin after first engaging the 2 claws.
      • Securely engage the claws.

    4. Connect the transmission control switch connector to the floor shift assembly.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY  (See REASSEMBLY  )
  3. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION  (See ADJUSTMENT  )
  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  12. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL REAR ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. INSTALL UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  22. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION  )
  23. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
