Intuitive Parking Assist System: Precaution
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system after the cable is reconnected.

- PRECAUTIONS FOR INTUITIVE PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM
- Under the following conditions, the detection function may not function properly.
- The sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as mud or snow (detection function returns to normal when sensor is cleaned)
- The sensor is frozen (detection function returns to normal when the temperature of the sensor rises)
- A hand is blocking the sensor
HINT
- In very cold weather where a malfunction display appears, the sensor may not be able to detect obstacles
- If the malfunction display appears, visually check the sensor first. If the sensor is free of foreign matter but the malfunction display remains, the sensor may have a malfunction
- The detection range may be affected by the following conditions
- The sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as mud or snow
- The vehicle is in an excessively hot or excessively cold area
- Under the following conditions, a detection error may occur
- Driving on a bumpy road, an unpaved road, or in tall grass
- Ultrasonic waves from items such as another vehicle's horn, motorcycle engine sounds, a large vehicle's air brake sound, or another vehicle's sonar are transmitted near the vehicle
- It is raining heavily or the sensor comes into contact with water (sprayed)
- The vehicle is tilted at a high angle
- The vehicle is equipped with a fender pole or a wireless antenna mechanism
- The sensor is covered with foreign matter, such as mud or snow
- The vehicle is moved forward or backward towards high curbs or objects that are perpendicular to the ground
- The sensor cannot detect the following objects
- Thin objects, such as wires and ropes
- Materials that absorb ultrasonic waves, such as cotton, snow, etc
- Objects with sharp edges
- Short objects
- Objects with a part that projects upward a large distance
- Other objects
- Other notices
- The sensor cannot detect objects directly under the bumper (The sensor may detect low objects and thin poles, and then lose track of the objects)
- The sensor may not be able to detect obstacles that are too close to the sensor
- The sensor may not be able to detect obstacles if it is dropped or subjected to a strong impact
- Under the following conditions, the detection function may not function properly.
