How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

Use these procedures to troubleshoot the audio and visual system.

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 
  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage: 

    11 to 14 V 

    If the voltage is below 11V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

  3. CHECK IF SAME SYMPTOM APPEARS IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM 
    1. Refer to the navigation system.

      Result

      Symptom appears B

    B: FOLLOW NAVIGATION SYMPTOM CHART TO PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )

    A: Go to next Step 

  4. BASIC INSPECTION 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (ACC).
    2. Check whether or not the display appears on the multi-display or display and navigation module display.

      Result

      Display appears A
      Display does not appear B

    B:  Go to step  6

    A: Go to next Step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTC output in the first step, try to force output of the audio system DTC by simulating the conditions indicated by the DTC.

      HINT:

      • If the system cannot enter the diagnosis mode, inspect each AVC-LAN communication signal and repair or replace problem parts.
      • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs as the system stores past DTCs.
      • Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen as necessary (See SYSTEM DESCRIPTION  ).
      • Check and clear past diagnostic trouble codes. Check the diagnostic trouble code and inspect the area the code indicates.

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. Operation check (See OPERATION CHECK  ).
    2. Terminals of ECU (See TERMINALS OF ECU  ).
    3. Inspect the front No. 1 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    4. Inspect the front No. 2 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    5. Inspect the front No. 3 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    6. Inspect the front No. 4 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    7. Inspect the No. 1 woofer box speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    8. Inspect the rear speaker set (See INSPECTION  ).
    9. Inspect the rear No. 2 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    10. Inspect the rear No. 3 speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    11. Inspect the rear header speaker (See INSPECTION  ).
    12. Inspect the steering pad switch (See INSPECTION ).
  8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE
