Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (BACK-UP LIGHT) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the back-up light illuminates.

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      BACK-UP Back-up light ON / OFF -

      OK: Back-up light illuminates. 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG: Go to Next step 

  2. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the back-up light.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the back-up light connector and check that the back-up light illuminates.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Back-up light illuminates

    NG: REPLACE BACK-UP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 6L junction block connector.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      6L-1 (BCK1) - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHT - ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the B8*1 or B9*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: LH

      *2: RH

    2. Disconnect the L22 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance: 

      LH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      B8-2 - L22-13 (BCK1) Below 1 Ω
      B8-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      B8-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      RH 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      B9-2 - L22-13 (BCK1) Below 1 Ω
      B9-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      B9-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
