How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

• Use this procedure to troubleshoot the smart key system.
• Techstream can be used in steps 3, 4, 5 and 7.
• When troubleshooting the smart key system using Techstream with the engine switch off, connect Techstream to the vehicle and repeat turning any of the courtesy light switches on and off until communication between the tester and the vehicle begins (the interval ON and OFF should be less than 1.5 sec.).

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
   1. Confirm problem symptoms.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
   1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      HINT: 

      This system uses multiplex communication. Check for DTCs for the multiplex communication system before performing the troubleshooting.

4. CHECK DTC 
   1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      1. Record the DTCs.
   2. Clear the DTCs.

      HINT: 

      After DTCs are all cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

   3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again.

         Result

         DTCs are not output, and the malfunction cannot be simulated or checked.	C
