How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. PROBLEM SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to the how to proceed with troubleshooting. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

    1. Check for output DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      MPX DTC is not output A
      MPX DTC is output B

      HINT: 

      The ECM of this system is connected to the multiplex communication system. Therefore, before starting troubleshooting, make sure to check that there is no trouble in the multiplex communication system.

      B → PROCEED TO  MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  "MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    Refer to the precaution. Refer to PRECAUTION .

    1. Check for output DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      HINT: 

      The ECM of this system is connected to the CAN communication system. Therefore, before starting troubleshooting, make sure to check that there is no trouble in the CAN communication system.

      B → PROCEED TO  CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  "CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM" 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. DTC CHECK AND CLEAR 

    Refer to the DTC check/clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. DTC CHECK (OTHER THAN MPX AND CAN SYSTEM DTC) 

    Refer to the DTC check/clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is not output A
    DTC is output B

    A → GO TO   8 STEP 8 

    B: Go to next step 

  7. DTC CHART 

    Refer to the diagnostic trouble code chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

    NEXT → GO TO   11 STEP 11 

  8. PROBLEM SYMPTOM SIMULATION

    Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
    Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B → GO TO   10 STEP 10 

    A: Go to next step 

  9. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 

    Refer to the electronic circuit inspection procedure. Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE .

  10. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    Refer to the problem symptoms table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .

  11. CIRCUIT INSPECTION

  12. TERMINALS OF ECU 

    Refer to the terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .

  13. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  15. CONFIRMATION TEST
