Knock Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR

    1. Install the 4 knock control sensors with the 4 bolts so that the sensors are angled as shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 20 N*m ( 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      The acceptable installation angle of the knock control sensors is within +/- 10° from the horizontal position.

    2. Connect the 4 knock control sensor connectors.
  2. INSTALL CASE SEPARATOR

    1. Install the case separator with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m ( 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 4 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the intake air surge tank assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
