2UR-GSE ENGINE CONTROL: KNOCK SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
(a) Discharge fuel system pressure Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the intake air surge tank assembly Removal.
4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
6. REMOVE NO. 4 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE CASE SEPARATOR





(a) Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and case separator.





8. REMOVE KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the 4 knock control sensor connectors.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 knock control sensors.
