| Engine switch | on (IG) |
| Time after engine switch off to on (IG) | 3 seconds or more |
| Battery voltage | 8 V or more |
| Starter | OFF |
| Either of the following conditions is met | Condition 1 or 2 |
| 1. All of the following conditions are met | Conditions A, B and C |
| A. Engine coolant temperature | 20°C (68°F) or more |
| B. Engine coolant temperature sensor fail (P0115, P0117, P0118, P0125) | Not detected |
| C. Time after park/neutral position switch ON to OFF | 10 seconds or more |
| 2. All of the following conditions are met | Condition D and E |
| D. Either of the following condition is met | Condition (a) or (b) |
| (a) Engine coolant temperature | Less than 20°C (68°F) |
| (b) Engine coolant temperature sensor fail (P0115, P0117, P0118, P0125) | Detected |
| E. Time after park/neutral position switch ON to OFF | 30 seconds or more |
