Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Door locks operate normally OK
      Door locks do not operate normally NG

      NG:  GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

      OK: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OUTSIDE HANDLE) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Passenger Door (Front door ECU LH) 

      PASSENGER DOOR (FRONT DOOR ECU LH) DATA LIST REFERENCE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Outside Handle Trigger SW Front passenger side door outside handle lock switch/ON or OFF ON: Front passenger side door outside handle lock switch is pushed
      OFF: Front passenger side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed      		 -

      OK: On the screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

      NG:  Go to step  4

      OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the front door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

      OK: END (FRONT DOOR ECU RH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  4. INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      a2-3 (TRG+) - a2-1 (TRG-) ON Below 1 Ω
      a2-3 (TRG+) - a2-1 (TRG-) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH  (See REMOVAL )

      OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - FRONT DOOR ECU RH)

    1. Disconnect the a2 handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the N1 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      a2-3 (TRG+) - N1-20 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      a2-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the a1 oscillator connector.
    2. Disconnect the a2 handle connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      a2-1 (TRG-) - a1-9 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      a2-1 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: Go to step 8 

      OK: END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  8. CHECK FRONT DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the front door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

      OK: END (FRONT DOOR ECU RH IS DEFECTIVE)
