Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      Door locks operate normally OK
      Door locks do not operate normally NG

      NG:  GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

      OK: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OUTSIDE HANDLE) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Rear Right Door (Rear door ECU RH) 

      REAR RIGHT DOOR (REAR DOOR ECU RH) DATA LIST REFERENCE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Outside Handle Trigger SW Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch/ON or OFF ON: Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch is pushed
      OFF: Rear RH side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed
      -

      OK: On the screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart. 

      NG:  Go to step  4

      OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

      OK: END (REAR DOOR ECU RH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  4. INSPECT REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      d-3 (TRG+) - c1-1 (TRG-) ON Below 1 Ω
      d-3 (TRG+) - d-1 (TRG-) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPLACE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH  (See REMOVAL )

      OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - REAR DOOR ECU RH)

    1. Disconnect the d handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d-3 (TRG+) - O3-20 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      d-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE RH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the d handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the c2 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d-1 (TRG-) - c2-9 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      c1-1 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: Go to step 8 

      OK: END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  8. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU RH with a new one or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL ).
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK: Operates normally 

      NG: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

      OK: END (REAR DOOR ECU RH IS DEFECTIVE)
