Display Signal Circuit between Multi-display and Television Camera Assembly: Procedure

  1. CHECK DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L114-17 (CGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L114-16 (V-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L114-6 (CA+) - L114-17 (CGND) Engine switch on (IG), shift lever in R 5.8 to 6.5 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY - TELEVISION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the L114 display connector.
    2. Disconnect the S35 camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L114-6 (CA+) - S35-4 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L114-17 (CGND) - S35-3 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      L114-5 (V+) - S35-2 (CV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L114-16 (V-) - S35-1 (CV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L114-6 (CA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L114-17 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L114-5 (V+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L114-16 (V-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION

      Item Content
      Tester Connection L114-5 (V+) - L114-16 (V-)
      Tool Setting 0.2 V/DIV., 0.2 μs/DIV.
      Condition
      • Engine switch on (IG), shift lever in R*1
      • Engine switch on (IG), shift lever in R, screen blacked out by covering camera lens*2

      OK

      Pulses are as shown in the illustration.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  5. REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL
