Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK ECUS CONNECTED TO CAN BUS 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Check the ECUs connected to the CAN bus (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      No malfunction appears A
      Malfunction appears B

      B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

      A: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK DTC (ALL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Condition Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      CAN system DTC is output B
      LIN system DTC is output C

      B: GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )

      C: GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

      A: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION (ACTIVE TEST) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body/Combination Meter/Active Test.
    5. Check the condition of the pattern select indicator light by operating the Techstream.

      Combination Meter 

      COMBINATION METER - ACTIVE TEST

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR Pattern select indicator light (PWR) ON or OFF -
      Indicat. Lamp ECT SNOW Pattern select indicator light (SNOW) ON or OFF -

      OK: 

      Indicator light turns on or off according to the Techstream operation. 

      NG: GO TO METER/GAUGE SYSTEM  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. CHECK SWITCH SIGNAL (NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH DATA LIST) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body/Center Console Switch/Data List.
    5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      Center Console Switch 

      CENTER CONSOLE SWITCH - DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ECT Power Mode Switch Pattern select switch (PWR) status/
      ON or OFF      		 Pattern select switch (PWR):
      • Pushed: ON
      • Not pushed: OFF
      		 -
      ECT Snow Mode Switch Pattern select switch (SNOW) status/
      ON or OFF      		 When turning engine switch on (IG): OFF
      ↓
      Pattern select switch (SNOW) is pushed: ON
      ↓
      Pattern select switch (SNOW) is pushed again: OFF      		 -

      OK: 

      On the Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to switch operation. 

      NG: REPLACE NO. 1 CONSOLE SWITCH 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  5. REPLACE TCM 
    1. Replace the TCM (See REMOVAL  ).

      NEXT: PERFORM A/T CODE REGISTRATION (See  REGISTRATION   )
