On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M2-6 (CLTB) - M2-3 (CLTE) Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      WAVEFORM REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M2-3 (CLTE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the M2 sensor connector.
    4. Check the waveform of the M2 sensor connector.

      Waveform 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Tool Setting Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M2-3 (CLTE) - M2-5 (CLTS) 5 V/DIV., 5 msec./ DIV. Power switch ON (IG), Headlight dimmer switch on AUTO Correct waveform is as shown

      HINT:

      If the ambient light becomes brighter, width A becomes narrower.

      If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the sensor
