Removal

AA80E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the steering wheel Removal.

3. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH MODULATOR





(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 4 screws and steering pad switch.

4. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Disconnect the connector and detach the harness clamp.

(b) Remove the 2 screws and the switch.

5. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER





(a) Remove the 2 screws and the steering shake damper.

6. REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER





(a) Remove the 2 screws of the shift paddle switch.

(b) w/ Steering Heater:

Disconnect the steering heater connector.

(c) Remove the 2 screws, detach the 4 claws and remove the lower steering wheel cover.

7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (RH (+)) AND (LH (-))





(a) Detach the connector clamp and 3 harness clamps.

(b) Cut the cable tie of the shift switch (RH (+)), disconnect the connector and remove the shift switch (RH (+)) and (LH (-)).
