DTC P0607: Control Module Performance (2010 To 08/2009): Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output	A
   DTC P0607 is output	B

A: Go to next step 

1. Inspect the P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 flowchart.

   HINT: 

   • If P0136 or P0156 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM" 6.
   • If P0137 or P0157 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If P0138 or P0158 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM" 6.
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

1. Allow the engine to idle and rev the engine.
2. Check for exhaust gas leaks around the heated oxygen sensor.

   If any exhaust gas leaks are present, repair it and proceed to 4 "PERFORM CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN". If no exhaust gas leaks are present, proceed to CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN "PERFORM CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN".

   HINT: 

   • If no exhaust gas leaks are present, a malfunction in the heated oxygen sensor circuit is suspected.
   • If any exhaust gas leaks are present around the heated oxygen sensor, noise appears in the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor.

NEXT: Go to next step 

1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Warm up the engine until the engine coolant temperature becomes 75°C (167°F) or more.
4. Perform the driving pattern.

   1. Accelerate the vehicle until 50 mph (80 km/h) and stop the vehicle.
   2. Drive the vehicle between 38 to 50 mph (60 to 80 km/h) for 5 minutes.
5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
6. Read the DTCs.

   Result

   DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output	A
   DTC P0607 is output	B
   DTC is not output	C

1. Inspect the P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 flowchart.

   HINT: 

   • If P0136 or P0156 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If P0137 or P0157 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If P0138 or P0158 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

NEXT: Go to next step 

1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
2. Stop the engine and wait for 30 minutes.
3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
4. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes.
5. Turn the Techstream on.
6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
7. Read the DTCs.

   Result

   DTC P0607 is output	B
