Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) See step   2 

    B → See step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) See step   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INDICAT. LAMP ECT PWR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR.
    4. Perform the "Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR" Active Test.

      OK

      The SPORT mode indicator lamp comes on or blinks.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Pattern Switch (PWR/M).
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Pattern Switch (PWR/M) SPORT mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In SPORT mode: ON

  5. CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SPORT MODE / NORMAL MODE) 
    1. Remove the combination switch assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H72-6 (PWR) - H72-14 (E) Mode switch being turned and held at SPORT position Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      H72-4 (NORM) - H72-14 (E) Mode switch being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      (Combination Switch Assembly)
    3. Install the combination switch assembly.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) See step   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect connector A60 from the ECM.
    2. Disconnect connector H72 from the combination switch assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-46 (PWMS) - H72-6 (PWR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-46 (PWMS) or H72-6 (PWR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A60-30 (NE01) - H72-4 (NORM) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-30 (NE01) or H72-4 (NORM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Connect the combination switch assembly connector.
    5. Connect the ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   12 

  8. REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  9. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
  10. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  11. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  12. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS
