Section 307 (Engine Control System (Service Information)): ECM: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the ECM to the engine room ECU box with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Install the ECM on the ECM box with the label facing away from the engine.
      • Make sure that there is no foreign matter on the gasket surface of the ECM box.
      • Insert the stud bolt on the vehicle rear side to the ECM first.
      • Make sure that the stud bolts are securely installed into the front and rear bolt holes.
    2. Connect the 6 ECM connectors.
      NOTE:

      Be sure to securely connect the connector.

    3. Connect the connector holder.

  2. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    1. Install the ECM cover with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 93
  4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 94
  5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 95
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. When replacing the ECM, some systems need to be initialized.
  8. PERFORM RESET MEMORY 
    NOTE:

    Perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the ECM. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

    HINT: 

    Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  9. PERFORM REGISTRATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform Registration (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .

    HINT: 

    Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
