DTC P2004: Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 1); DTC P2006: Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed (Bank 1): Procedure

1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs.

   Result

   Display (DTC Output)	Proceed to
   P2004 or P2006	A
   P2004 or P2006 and other DTCs	B

   HINT: 

   If any DTCs other than P2004 or P2006 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

B → See step   5 

A: Go to next step 

1. Inspect the intake air surge tank assembly. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 2 .

NG → See step   6 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the E6 ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the E53 intake air control valve actuator.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard resistance (Check for open)

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   E6-1 (IA1-) - E53-2	Below 1 Ω
   E6-2 (IA1+) - E53-1	Below 1 Ω

   Standard resistance (Check for short)

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   E6-1 (IA1-) or E53-2 - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher
   E6-2 (IA1+) or E53-1 - body ground	10 kΩ or higher

4. Reconnect the ECM connector.
5. Reconnect the intake air control valve actuator.

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
6. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
7. Turn the Techstream on.
8. Drive the vehicle accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes / Pending.
10. Read the pending DTCs.

    Result

    Display (DTC Output)	Proceed to
    P2004 or P2006	A
    No DTC	B
