Confirm Vehicle Headunit Functionality [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE COMPATIBILITY 
    1. Go to TIS "Bluetooth" Compatibility Portal and check if the cellular phone is compatible.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Cellular phone is compatible. A
      Cellular phone is not compatible. B

      HINT: 

      It is important to check the cellular phone compatibility charts carefully:

      • Some apps may only work on cellular phones.
      • Some apps may only work when paired to a vehicle.
      • Some cellular phones do not support all features.

    B → RECOMMEND COMPATIBLE CELLULAR PHONE 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CONFIRM CELLULAR PHONE SIGNAL 
    1. A 3G or higher connection is required for proper Apps functionality. If a 3G or higher connection is not available, some applications may not function properly. (Wi-Fi is not an approved connection for Enform services.)

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CONFIRM IF THE CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE CAN BE PAIRED TO THE VEHICLE 
    1. Pair the customer's cellular phone to the vehicle.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Cellular phone is not successfully paired. A
      Cellular phone is successfully paired. B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CONFIRM THAT A KNOWN GOOD CELLULAR PHONE CAN BE PAIRED TO THE VEHICLE 
    1. Check that a known good cellular phone can be paired to the customer's vehicle.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Cellular phone is successfully paired. A
      Cellular phone is not successfully paired. B

      HINT: 

      For instructions on how to reset the cellular phone, refer to the appropriate manufacturer's website.

    B → See step   12 

    A → RESET CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE (REMOVE BATTERY) AND TRY AGAIN 

  5. CHECK APPS FUNCTION WHEN PAIRED 
    1. Proceed to the appropriate service information based on the customer concern in the table below.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Head unit data Apps (e.g. internet search) do not function properly. A
      Head unit internet radio Apps do not function properly. B

      HINT: 

      This is a head unit functionality check. Ensure that a cellular phone is paired to the vehicle.

    B → See step   9 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK DATA APPS FUNCTION ON THE HEAD UNIT 
    1. Make sure that the customer's cellular phone is paired with the vehicle.
    2. Start an internet search Apps on the head unit.
    3. Check if a search can be made.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Head unit data Apps does not function properly. A
      Head unit data Apps functions properly. B

    B → END (NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND) 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. RECORD ERROR MESSAGES IF PRESENT 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK ENFORM SEARCH FUNCTION ON THE HEAD UNIT USING A KNOWN GOOD CELLULAR PHONE 
    1. Make sure that a known good cellular phone is paired with the vehicle.
    2. Start an internet search Apps on the head unit.
    3. Check if a search can be made.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Head unit data Apps functions properly. A
      Head unit data Apps does not function properly. B

      HINT: 

      For instructions on how to reset the cellular phone, refer to the appropriate manufacturer's website.

    B → See step   12 

    A → RESET CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE (REMOVE BATTERY) AND TRY AGAIN 

  9. CHECK INTERNET RADIO FUNCTION ON THE HEAD UNIT USING THE CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE 
    1. Make sure that the customer's cellular phone is paired with the vehicle.
    2. Start an internet radio Apps on the head unit.
    3. Check that the audio can be heard through the vehicle's speakers.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Head unit internet radio apps does not function properly. A
      Head unit internet radio apps functions properly. B

    B → END (NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND) 

    A: Go to next step 

  10. RECORD ERROR MESSAGES IF PRESENT 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK INTERNET RADIO FUNCTION ON THE HEAD UNIT USING A KNOWN GOOD CELLULAR PHONE 
    1. Make sure that a known good cellular phone is paired with the vehicle.
    2. Start an internet radio Apps on the head unit.
    3. Check that the audio can be heard through the speakers.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Head unit internet radio Apps does not function properly using a known good phone. A
      Head unit internet radio Apps functions properly using known good phone. B

      HINT: 

      For instructions on how to reset the cellular phone, refer to the appropriate manufacturer's website.

    B → RESET CUSTOMER'S CELLULAR PHONE (REMOVE BATTERY) AND TRY AGAIN 

    A: Go to next step 

  12. PERFORM APPS RESET PROCEDURE 
    1. Perform Apps reset procedure. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The problem symptom has been repaired. A
      The problem symptom has not been repaired. B
