How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2013 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Interview the customer to confirm the problem. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check for normal function of the multiplex communication system.
      Result Proceed to
      ECU not connected, communication line malfunctioning and no DTCs are output. A
      ECU not connected or communication line malfunctioning and DTCs are output. B
      1. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunctioning) If no code is output, proceed to A.
      2. (ECU unconnected, communication line malfunctioning) If any code is output, proceed to B.

      B → GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION service information. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. If the fault is not listed in the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.
    2. If the fault is listed in the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.

      B → Go to step 7 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING ACCORDING TO MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM* 
    1. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2013 - ] .
  7. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
