How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [09/2013 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. PROBLEM SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION 

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    Symptom does not occur A
    Symptom occurs B

    B → Go to step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK IF SAME SYMPTOM APPEARS IN OTHER SYSTEM 
    1. Refer to the navigation system. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] .

      Symptom does not occur A
      Symptom appears B

      B → GO TO NAVIGATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN COMMUNICATION)* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the multiplex communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [09/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs for multiplex communication system are not output A
      DTCs for multiplex communication system are output B

      B → GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE [09/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs for CAN communication system are not output A
      DTCs for CAN communication system are output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [09/2013 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [09/2013 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.
      NOTE: The multimedia module receiver assembly outputs DTCs for the following systems. When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Table for the rear view monitor system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Table for the relevant systems.

      Result

      No DTCs are output. A
      DTCs for rear view monitor system are output. B
      DTCs for navigation system are output. C

      B → Go to step   11 

      C → GO TO NAVIGATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE [09/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  9. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table B

      B → Go to step   11 

      A: Go to next step 

  10. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM 
    1. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [09/2013 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
