How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2014 - ]

HINT: 

• Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the dynamic radar cruise control system.
• *: Use the Techstream.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
   1. Measure the battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

3. INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (BEAM AXIS MISALIGNMENT READING)* 
   1. Adjust the reflector height. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .
   2. Place the reflector. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .
   3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
   4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
   5. Turn the Techstream on.
   6. Turn the cruise control switch (ON/OFF button) on.
   7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Utility / Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
   8. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)* 
   1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      CAN DTC is not output	A
      CAN DTC is output	B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

5. CHECK FOR DTCs* 

   Refer to DTC Check / Clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2014 - ] .

   1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
   2. Clear the DTCs.
   3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to reproduce the DTCs by duplicating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.

7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING*

   2. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2014 - ] 

      NEXT: Go to next step 

8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
   NOTE:

   When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .

   NEXT: Go to next step 

9. CONFIRMATION TEST 

   NEXT → END
