How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2014 - ]
HINT:
- Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the dynamic radar cruise control system.
- *: Use the Techstream.
- VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT: Go to next step
- INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
- Measure the battery voltage.
Standard Voltage
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.
NEXT: Go to next step
- Measure the battery voltage.
- INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (BEAM AXIS MISALIGNMENT READING)*
- Adjust the reflector height. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .
- Place the reflector. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Turn the cruise control switch (ON/OFF button) on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Utility / Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
- Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.
NEXT: Go to next step
- CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)*
- Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
Result
Result Proceed to CAN DTC is not output A CAN DTC is output B B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2014 - ]
A: Go to next step
- Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
- CHECK FOR DTCs*
Refer to DTC Check / Clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2014 - ] .
- Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
- Clear the DTCs.
- Recheck for DTCs. Try to reproduce the DTCs by duplicating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.
Result
Result Proceed to DTC does not reoccur A DTC reoccurs B B → GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2014 - ]
A: Go to next step
- PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2014 - ] .
Result
Result Proceed to Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B B → Go to step 8
A: Go to next step
- OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING*
- Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [08/2014 - ]
- Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2014 - ]
NEXT: Go to next step
- ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE NOTE:
When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2014 - ] .
NEXT: Go to next step
- CONFIRMATION TEST
