Starter Signal Circuit [09/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.
5. Read the value.

   OK

   Engine Switch Position	Starter Signal
   On (IG)	Close (Starter signal OFF)
   START	Open (Starter signal ON)

Result: 

OK 

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

(Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2014 - 10/2015] )

Result: 

NG

1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly (for 2WD) (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).
2. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly (for AWD) (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2014 - ] ).

1. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F48-5 (L) - A21-20 (STA)	Always	Below 1 Ω

   Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F48-5 (L) or A21-20 (STA) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
