Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2014 - 08/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2016 - 10/2017]

  2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER 
    NOTE:
    • Remove all water on and around the engine room ECU cover.
    • Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
    • Be sure to prevent water intrusion to the ECM (connectors and screw parts).
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and engine room ECU cover.

  3. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect the 2 engine wire harness connectors from the connector holder.

    2. Disengage the claw and disconnect the connector from the connector holder.
    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.

    4. Disconnect the connector holder from the engine room ECU box.
    5. Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors.

  4. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and ECM from the engine room ECU box.
      NOTE:

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
