WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2020 Lexus IS 350, 2020 Lexus IS 300, 2019 Lexus IS 350, 2019 Lexus IS 300, and 2018 Lexus IS 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA
    NOTE:
    • DTCs may be output when connectors are disconnected during inspection. Therefore, be sure to clear the DTCs using the Techstream once the inspection has been completed.
    • Do not apply excessive force to the S18 forward recognition camera connector.

    1. Disconnect the S18 forward recognition camera connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      S18-7 (IGB) - S18-10 (GND) P - BR Power source Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
Engine switch off Below 1 V
S18-10 (GND) - Body ground BR - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the S18 forward recognition camera connector.
    4. w/ Forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly:

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
S18-1 (HTR) - S18-10 (GND) SB - BR Forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly operation signal Engine switch on (IG)
Forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly not operating
      11 to 14 V
      Engine switch on (IG)
Forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly operating
      Below 1 V
    5. Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT:

If the waveform is not similar to that shown in the illustration, a malfunction of a CAN bus line, terminating resistor, or the forward recognition camera is suspected.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
