How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2013 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard Voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the multiplex communication system (MPX) is functioning normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      MPX DTC is not output A
      MPX DTC is output B

      B → GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC* 

    Refer to DTC Check / Clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .

    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to reproduce the DTCs by duplicating the conditions that the DTCs suggest.

      Result

      DTC does not reoccur A
      DTC reoccurs B

      B → Go to step 8 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - ] .

    Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
    Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

    B → Go to step 8 

    A: Go to next step 

  7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [08/2013 - ] 
    2. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2013 - ] 

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    NOTE:
    • When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed. Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2013 - ] - Step 10 .
    • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly beam axis must be performed. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2013 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
