Power Seat Power Easy Access System Function does not Operate [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION 
    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Each function of power seat operates normally by using seat switches.

      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Power seat functions operate normally A
      All power seat functions do not operate B
      One or more power seat motors do not operate C

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch) 

    (Refer to Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch [09/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate)

  2. CHECK SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION 
    1. Perform a memory operation and check that the buzzer sounds to indicate the completion of the memory operation (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK

      Seat position memory function operates normally.

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVER SEAT BUCKLE SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      DRIVER SEAT

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Driver Seat Buckle SW Status of the driver's seat belt / ON or OFF ON: Tongue plate is engaged
      OFF: Tongue plate is not engaged

  4. REPLACE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the power seat switch assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

  5. CHECK POWER SEAT POWER EASY ACCESS SYSTEM 
    1. Check that the power seat easy access system operates normally when engaging and disengaging the tongue plate of the seat belt with the shift lever in P (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

  6. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the position control ECU assembly with a new or normally functioning one.

    Result:

  7. CHECK POWER SEAT POWER EASY ACCESS SYSTEM 
    1. Check that the power seat easy access system operates normally when engaging and disengaging the tongue plate of the seat belt with the shift lever in P (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

  8. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly LH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (RDC) - 4 (E) Tongue plate is engaged Below 1 Ω
      5 (RDC) - 4 (E) Tongue plate is not engaged 10 kΩ or higher
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for Standard Seat Type) A
      OK (for Sports Seat Type, Luxury Seat Type) B

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the d16 power seat switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the d1 front seat inner belt assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d16-10 (DBCL) - d1-5 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      d16-10 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH AND GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the d5 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the d1 front seat inner belt assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d5-13 (DBCL) - d1-5 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      d5-13 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for Sport Seat Type) A
      OK (for Luxury Seat Type) B
      NG C

    Result: 

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

  11. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FR DOOR COURTESY) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  14. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the position control ECU assembly with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check that the power seat easy access system operates normally (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

  15. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch RH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Switch body Pin not pushed Below 1 Ω
      Pin pushed 10 kΩ or higher

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH - FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the 5A cowl side junction block LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the T6 front door courtesy light switch assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5A-33 (FRCY) - T6-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      5A-33 (FRCY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG

  17. INSPECT COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH 
    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-4 (FRCY) - 5A-33 Always Below 1 Ω

    Result:

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH

  18. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with a new one (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Check that the power seat easy access system operates normally (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU] WAS DEFECTIVE)
