How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Confirm the problem symptoms (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2015 - ] ).

  3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE* 
    1. Measure the voltage of the battery.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

    2. Using the Techstream, inspect battery voltage reduction history "Battery Control Count (Body ECU)" in the Data List (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2015 - ] ).

  4. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* 
    1. Check and record DTCs and freeze frame data.

  8. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Check for DTCs (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2018 - ] ).

      HINT: 

      • If any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for the CAN communication system first.
      • If communication to the power steering ECU cannot be established through the Techstream, inspect terminals CANH and CANL of the DLC3 and power steering ECU and the IG circuit of the power steering ECU.

  9. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - ] ).

      HINT: 

      Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart when any DTCs are output (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2015 - ] ).
