NOTE:
  • When using the Techstream with the power switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

  • The smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) uses a multiplex communication system (LIN communication system) and the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2014 - ] ).Troubleshoot the smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.
  • Make sure that no DTCs are output. If any DTCs are output, proceed to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2014 - 10/2015] or DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2015 - ] ).
  • If the smart access system with push-button start is disabled through the customize function, enable the system before performing troubleshooting (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2014 - ] ).
  • Before replacing the power management control ECU, refer to the smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) precaution (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2014 - ] ).
  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
  • After completing repairs, confirm that the problem does not occur.
