Installation [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Lexus IS 250 and 2014 Lexus IS 250. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Clean and degrease the threads of the bolt for the VVT sensor.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.
    3. Install the VVT sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If a VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
  2. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Clean and degrease the threads of the bolt for the VVT sensor.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.
    3. Install the VVT sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If a VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
  3. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Clean and degrease the threads of the bolt for the VVT sensor.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.
    3. Install the VVT sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If a VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
  4. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Clean and degrease the threads of the bolt for the VVT sensor.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.
    3. Install the VVT sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If a VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
  5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
