Installation [10/2017 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Install the power steering link assembly with the 2 bolts, 2 washers and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 117.6 N.m (1199 kgf/cm, 87 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 wire harness clamps to the power steering link assembly.

    3. Connect the 3 wire harness connectors to the power steering link assembly.

      HINT: 

      When connecting the connector with lock lever, as shown in the illustration, return the lock lever to its original position to connect the connector and securely push in the lock of the lock lever.

  2. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 
    1. Install the power steering link assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 101.8 N.m (1038 kgf/cm, 75 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  4. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH (for 2WD) 
    1. Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the front lower ball joint assembly with the nut.

      Torque: 65 N.m (663 kgf/cm, 48 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Prevent oil from adhering to the threaded and tapered parts.

    2. Install a new clip.
      NOTE:

      Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

  5. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH (for 2WD) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH (for AWD) 
    1. Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.

      Torque: 65 N.m (663 kgf/cm, 48 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Prevent oil from adhering to the threaded and tapered parts.

    2. Install a new clip.
  7. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH (for AWD) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  8. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Align the matchmark on the steering sliding with shaft yoke sub-assembly with the matchmark on the power steering link assembly.

    2. Install the bolt (B) and tighten the bolt (A).

      Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)

  9. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 
    1. Align the matchmark on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly with the matchmark on the power steering link assembly.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

  10. INSTALL FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR (for 2WD) 

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

    for 8AR-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  11. INSTALL FRONT UPPER NO. 2 SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 2WD) 

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29

    for 8AR-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  12. INSTALL SUSPENSION TOWER DAMPER (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  13. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE (for 2WD) 

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100

    for 8AR-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 77

  14. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2WD) 

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 101

    for 8AR-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75

  15. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH (for 2WD) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) 

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 103

    for 8AR-FTS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78

  17. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 

    Torque: 103 N.m (1050 kgf/cm, 76 ft.lbf) 

  18. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  19. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  20. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2016 - 09/2020]

  21. ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION AND TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [04/2013 - 09/2020]
