How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [09/2017 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the battery voltage with the engine switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (BEAM AXIS MISALIGNMENT READING)* 
    1. Adjust the reflector height.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    2. Place the reflector.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2017 - 05/2019]

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Turn the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF) on.
    7. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
    8. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading
    9. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Offset Reading.
    10. Check the amount of offset and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Offset Reading
    11. Calculate the "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" using the values "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" and "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading".
      1. "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" = "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" - "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading"

        Standard

        Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle) 

        Vertical -2.2 to 1.6 deg.
        Horizontal -0.6 to 0.6 deg.

      Result

      The dealership axis offset angle (with on-line calibration angle) is not within the specified range B

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream, check that the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2017 - 05/2019]

  5. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the meter / gauge system is functioning normally.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Meter / gauge system DTCs are not output A
      Meter / gauge system DTCs are output B

    Result:

  6. CHECK VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM AND ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the vehicle stability control system and electric parking brake system are functioning normally.

      Vehicle stability control system: Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - 05/2019]

      Electric parking brake system: Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2014 - 05/2019]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Vehicle stability control system and electric parking brake system DTCs are not output A
      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are output B
      Electric parking brake system DTCs are output C

    Result: 

    GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2014 - 05/2019]

    GO TO ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2014 - 05/2019]

  7. CHECK FOR DTCs (DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - 05/2019] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Trouble Codes 

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - 05/2019] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Clear DTCs 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to reproduce the DTCs by duplicating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2017 - 05/2019] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Trouble Codes

  10. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE

    When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed.

    1. Perform millimeter wave radar sensor assembly adjustment.
